Think of the first session as a comfortable "landing space". We will spend our time getting to know one another, discussing what brought you to therapy, and exploring what you hope to achieve. There's no need to have all the answers or a perfect "story" ready - we'll figure it out together at your pace.

Standard sessions are 60 minutes long. This provides a full hour to dive into our work without feeling rushed.

Yes. I offer a complimentary 15-minute Discovery Call. This is a brief, no-pressure space for us to meet, discuss your goals, and see if our dynamic feels like a good fit before you commit to a full appointment.

The "therapeutic relationship" - the connection between us - is the biggest predictor of success in therapy. You should feel safe, respected, and understood. I usually suggest meeting for 2 or 3 sessions to see how our dynamic feels. If you don't feel we are a great match, I will happily help you find a colleague who better suits your needs.

  • Individual counselling is $150 for a 60-minute session.
  • Couples/marriage counselling is $180 for an 80-minute session.

While a GP referral for a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) provides a rebate for certain services, the high "gap" or out-of-pocket costs often mean the final expense is similar to, or even higher than, private counselling fees. Choosing a private counsellor often means shorter wait times and the ability to begin your work together immediately without the administrative hurdles of a plan.

I have a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you need to reschedule or cancel, please provide at least 48 hours' notice. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice will incur a $75 fee. This policy respects the time set aside for your journey and allows other clients the opportunity to use that space.

Absolutely. Your privacy is a cornerstone of our relationship. Everything we discuss is legally and ethically protected. The only rare exceptions to this are if there is an immediate threat of harm to yourself or others, or in specific cases involving the safety of children or the elderly. We will walk through these details together during our first meeting so you feel completely secure.

I provide both online and in-person sessions. This allows you to choose the environment where you feel most at ease and comfortable engaging in our work together.

Progress in therapy isn't always a straight line, but there are common signs to look out for. You might notice you are:
  • Feeling more grounded and less overwhelmed by daily stressors.
  • Recognizing old patterns or "scripts" as they happen.
  • Responding to challenges with more flexibility rather than reacting out of habit.
  • Feeling a greater sense of agency and clarity in your decision-making.
  • Finding that the "tools" we discuss in session are becoming more natural to use in your daily life.

We will check in regularly to discuss your progress and ensure our work remains aligned with your goals.

Consistency helps create momentum. Most clients find that meeting once a week is most effective, especially in the beginning. As you start to feel more grounded and reach your milestones, we can discuss moving to bi-weekly or monthly "maintenance" sessions.

I believe therapy is an active, collaborative process. While I provide a dedicated space for you to be heard, I am also an active participant. I will offer observations, ask clarifying questions, and provide tools to help you bridge the gap between our sessions and your daily life.

Every journey is unique. Some people find that a few months of focused work provides the clarity they need, while others prefer long-term support for ongoing growth. We will regularly check in on your progress to ensure our work together remains valuable and relevant to your life.
